MAGI & THE MESSAGE (2014)
Established by Artistic Director Rodney A. Brown, The Making Connections Church is establishing as an ecumenical worshiping community. Developed in collaboration with Artist Gary Dixon, Magi & The Message is an educational skit and choreography demonstration based on Matthew 1-2 (MSG).
BIOGRAPHIES

GARY DIXON is a non-traditional student at The Ohio State University. A writer of poetry and performer of spoken word, he has been published in the anthology “Letters to My Bully”. In addition, his poetry has been featured in “The Colored Section”, a performance piece produced by Gamal Brown which speaks to the atrocities of lynching.
Active in the community; Gary is one of the founding members of The Restoration Church, an LGBTQ faith-based organization in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of Second Baptist Church.

RODNEY A. BROWN, founder/director of The Brown Dance Project (The BDP), teaches at The Ohio State University and Kentucky Governors School for the Arts. His most recent scholarship is a series of modern dance choreographies that teach an oral HIV prevention method. His most recent publication is an online book, "Education Options In Dance Composition: The Brown Dance Project (The BDP) Translating the Pedagogy of Action (POA) Module on HIV Education to Dance". Brown is a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
